As the Lantern Festival arrives and the Year of the Horse begins, families welcome new beginnings through glowing art, bold colors, and symbols of luck and freedom.

  • Performance & Workshop: The New York Korean Performing Arts Center

    Experience a Lunar New Year performance and learn alongside dancers performing buchaechum (traditional Korean fan dance).
  • Performance: Lion Dance with the Community Young Lions

    A traditional lion dance performance bringing good luck for the new year, presented by a Chinatown-based youth organization.
  • Year of the Horse Artmaking

    Create a vibrant Lunar New Year scene in red and yellow featuring a horse figure.
  • Paper Lantern Stamping

    Decorate a paper lantern using stamps and symbols associated with Lunar New Year celebrations.
